The Confederation of Puducherry State Government Employees Associations and Puducherry State Government Employees Central Federation held separate demonstrations here this evening to protest against the seventh pay commission recommendations which they alleged would affect the employees.

They announced the day as Black Day and held demonstrations wearing black badges.While the confederation volunteers held the agitation in front of the head post office,the central federation held the demonstration near the Immaculate Conception Cathedral here.

They said the demand to implement the recommendations with retrospective effect from January 1-2014 was rejected,the demand for a minimum wage of Rs.26000 was denied and fixed at Rs.18,000 and further 52 concessions were scrapped and these would severely affect the employees.

Government Pharmacists association also joined the agitation
