Hyderabad, Jul 6 (UNI) Telangana Postal Circle has been ranked 3rd in the category of “Fastest Roll-out of Aadhaar Enrolment and Updation Centres” in the country, while Punjab and Bihar postal circles secured first and second ranks respectively in the same category.
UIDAI has announced the Aadhaar Excellence Awards, 2018, constituted to appreciate the commendable efforts of India Post in setting up and operating Aadhaar Enrolment and Updation Centres across India.
India Post will have over 14000 Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Centres, across the country. A total of 66 awards are being in 3 categories--Best Performing Postal Circle ( 3 awards : Maharashtra, Karnataka and Punjab) , Fastest rollout in the country by a Postal Circle ( 3 awards
to Punjab, Bihar and Telangana) while 60 awards for Best Performing Post Office in a Postal Region , said G. Venugopal Reddy, Deputy Director General, UIDAI Regional Office(Hyderabad) said in a release here on Friday.
Telangana Postal Circle Chief Postmaster General, Brig Bhuvanagiri Chandrasekhar will receive the award at the awards function which will be followed by a workshop on Aadhaar Best Practices , is being held on July 11 at New Delhi.
Secunderabad Post Master (HO) S Prasad Rao will receive the award for the “Best Performing Post Office” in the Hyderabad City Region, while K. Sampath, Post Master, Hanamkonda (HO )will receive the award for the “Best Performing Post Office” in the Hyderabad Region.
Aadhaar Erolment and Update Centres will function in 266 post offices in Telangana, 578 post offices in Andhra Pradesh, 473 post offices in Odisha and 161 post offices in Chhattisgarh.
From Andhra Pradesh, J.Subbarayudu, Post Master, Cuddapah(HO), will receive the awards for the “Best Performing Post Office” in the Kurnool Region, while K Kanaka Ratna Rao, Post Master, Vijayawada (HO), will receive the awards for the “Best Performing Post Office” in the Vijayawada Region and R Ganesh Shankar, Post Master, Visakhapatnam (HO), will receive the awards for the “Best Performing Post Office” in the Visakhapatnam region.
